If I only had a brain.

“I could while away the hours, conferring with the flowers, consulting with the rain. If I only had a brain.”

I love that song and the movie. But there is a lesson buried in the song that relates to walking.

Your brain needs exercise and boosting brain power may be steps away. Professor Arthur Kramer of the University of Illinois in Urbana is part of a revolution, CBS News contributing correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports. He’s challenging a long-held belief in the world of neuroscience that the brain is hardwired, fixed, immutable. Professor Kramer says,

“We found in our study that walking will increase the volume of the brain, increase the efficiency of the brain and increase improvements in the number of cognitive functions such as memory and attention.”

Play a game and take a walk everyday, your brain and body will thank you with better performance.
