Professional jugglers.

woman jugglerI stare in wonder when I see a professional juggler. Not that kind of juggler, the women of today, kind. How do they do it? It’s amazing and I humbly sit in admiration and bewilderment.

It’s magic, I tell you!  Black magic and I believe they will rule the world one day. Then us men will realize what a good job we had before the takeover.

Children, spouse, friends, partner, relaxation, shopping, kids school, share or all of the chores, entertaining and high a powered professional – wow, I’m feeling very small right now. Lawyers, doctors, professionals, COOs every single one of them, whatever the job. I’m amazingly bewildered.

I laughed out loud (everyone’s staring at me in Starbucks) when I read this article, it’s so perfect (is there an echo in here):

“That’s why I laughed out loud when I read about a study that found: “Parenthood resulted in reduced leisure time physical activities in women.”

Stop the presses!

This conclusion seems so obvious, it’s natural to wonder why it took a 10-year study of more than 3,000 young adult men and women to reach it. As my children would say, “Well duh!”

Even the report’s lead author acknowledges what she calls “the duh factor” in her findings.

“Half the population reading this, the females, will say ‘Did we really need a study to establish this?’” admits Kathryn Schmitz, a University of Minnesota epidemiologist. “But in order for there to be any change, we have to get the realities down on paper.”

The realities are that women’s exercise levels drop by 20 percent after they become mothers, Schmitz says.”

I’m still sitting and wondering at the magic of the present day woman. I especially love when it’s written in such an entertaining manner by Carol Krucoff in “Working Out With Kids” appearing in Food and Fit:

To reverse this trend toward sedentary habits, Schmitz says, “moms must take time to exercise, and programs should be designed that make it convenient for them to enjoy an active lifestyle.”

Here’s a sampling of ways to work out with your children at Food and Fit.

I believe that the key word in this article is – TAKE! Take the time to exercise or time will just pass. I know that the partners out there will understand or you can just out smart them. Remember the take over the world plan? Trick them, make it seem like their idea or do some of that magic stuff. I really worried now. Talk about a lack of job security.

I know amazing dad’s are out there too. In the trenches pulling their weight with the best of the incredible women but I think we will be working for you guys very soon.
