Fitting fitness in your life.
It’s not easy to say or to start an exercise program. Juggling has become a reality of modern life and somehow we keep multiple balls in the air: family, spouse, children, work, hobbies, chores, love life, dating, entertainment, networking, cooking dinner – you get the idea. It all seems impossible, no wonder we can’t find time to exercise. Gladys Edmunds writing for USA TODAY asked her trainer, Judy for a few good ideas:
Set goals. Entrepreneurs are known for setting goals. So, set a fitness goal to get rid of that spare tire around the waist or develop a six-pack by the end of the year, or maybe set a larger goal such as running half a marathon next spring.
Hire help. A personal trainer can be a great asset to getting you up and moving.
Schedule appointments. Just as you schedule appointments for customers and clients, schedule your exercise sessions. And then show up for them.
Meeting with clients. Many appointments and meetings are held around meals. Instead of inviting a client to lunch, invite him to meet you for a 30-minute walk. Also, many business arrangements take place on the weight floor at the gym or on the tennis court. Instead of inviting a client to eat, invite him to exercise.
As Judy said, “you deserve the best,” and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be the best gift that you could give yourself, your family and your business.
Whether your a business person or household CEO (mom) take a moment to make time for yourself and for creating an exercise program that fits your life. It will make you a happier person and will have a positive effect on everyone around you.
