I will go without a lot of things but the one I hate to give up, is dessert. I saw this recipe last week but I've been running the gauntlet with work, family and walking.
May I present the so del.icio.us and diggin it, Strawberry Kiwi Dessert Cups. This looks more like a mini cake than some skimpy cupcake. So walk yourself over and get baking, whoops, no baking just make and eat. My favorite kind of dessert. I have yet to meet a dessert, I didn't like and that didn't like me. Especially the unmentionable one, who lives in the dark and forbidden hinterland of the dangerous underworld - chocolate!

Even Fergie's got to hit the workouts to stay in performance shape. When it's workout time, here's what she's doing, from WWD and LA Celebrity Gossip Examiner:
Fergie recently explained her workout preferences to WWD.com saying, “I put the treadmill on 2.5 mph and at a 15 percent gradient so I’m walking uphill, and it really works the gluteus. I’ll do that for half an hour and watch an episode of ‘Friends.’ It goes by so fast and doesn’t feel like you’re really working out.”
I love it, Fergie is burning it up on intense uphill walking. Wow! Find a hill near you or get on the treadmill...
Nothing like sweating to get out the toxins and to get a read on your level of effort. Sweat it up. It's OK - nobody cares if you finish a workout covered in sweat. Walking can be the exercise of sweat filled choice but you better get moving and moving quickly.
I see people walking all the time. The problem is they're walking so slow and I never see a drop of sweat. I'm always covered in sweat, no matter the temperature or season. If you want to get fit, stay fit and lose weight, get moving and speed up the walking. How about walking 12-14 minute miles? This is about the right speed,...

It seems like every other day, I'm walking a thin line when making an on the spot decision about trusting or not trusting. I'm of the trust but verify school, so usually I start from a position of trust and let the relationship build from that point. My gut instincts have served me very well, especially when it comes to building working relationships with people and companies. OK, you're asking, what does this have to do with exercise and walking? Nothing the article is just a good read.
Here are a few excerpts from the article appearing at CNN by Martha Beck at Oprah.com which looks at the art of trusting,...

This is a true story.
On Saturday, about half way through my walk, I began to notice a crumb trail. At first, I paid very little attention and yet another mile passed by. Out of nowhere the trail of crumbs re-appeared, magically leaving me a sporadic and broken trail to follow. It was a mysterious trail of crumbs, familiar and inviting, but still unknown. I slipped back into the thoughts of my workout and I tried to concentrate on my music and pace.
Yet again, out of the corner of my eye, that crumbly trail appeared, piece by piece. First, by my left foot, then my right. Now this...
(Part two)
As I rounded a curve in the path, heading toward the big hill, there they were again, my Hansel and Gretel trail. How could I ignore it? This time, the length between the little round and tan circles had become more and more frequent. Finally, I started up the hill, a final push home. As I willed myself up the steep incline, I saw a woman and a stroller at the top of the hill. The woman was bent forward, reaching out but the sun was in my eyes and I couldn't quite see.
Approaching them now, I had a clear idea of what had made the trail of golden tan circles. It was a Cheerios...

I'm going to try and count my steps one of these days.
I've walked 1200-1300 miles in my MBT shoes but these Reebok EasyTone are worth checking out at half the price, although it looks like they only make them for women.
Health experts recommend we log more steps — ideally 10,000 a day — to get or stay in shape, but can your choice of shoes boost the fitness impact of your walking workout? Reebok thinks so, touting its new EasyTone women's walking shoes as offering 28 percent more gluteus maximus muscle activation, 11 percent more hamstring activation and 11 percent more calf activation....
