The Irish Time reports that,
"President Barack Obama has confirmed that he will receive the Taoiseach at the White House on St Patrick’s Day in one of the president’s first meetings in Washington with a foreign leader since taking office last month.
“The United States and Ireland have strong bilateral relations, deep cultural ties and a commitment to positive change in the world,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said at his daily press briefing today."
What does this have to do with you? Nothing.
Other than, if you don't register, you can't win the St. Patty's Day iPod....

Shop till you drop, takes on a whole new meaning at supermarket giant Tesco, in Great Britain.
An all new "trim trolley" or shopping cart, graces the Tesco stores, providing resistance training while you grocery shop. The trolley by Wanzl has a built in gear mechanism providing a work out while you fill your cart.
J. Foster of DietBlog provides a very humorous outlook on the "Trim Trolley: Get Fit While Shopping" originally found at Inventor Spot.
"The irony is inescapable. The cornerstone of weight management is diet.
Imagine seeing someone pushing their trim trolley - stocked...
Yes, walking is a rocky mountain high and the University of Colorado at Boulder has a 'secret' in their study about walking and weight loss.
The University of Colorado provides an interesting perspective in this article, "Walk Slowly For Weight Loss."
"Leisurely walking for distance combined with low-impact cardiovascular activity appears to be the best formula for obese people seeking to get into shape and stay healthy, according to a University of Colorado at Boulder study.
Ray Browning, a doctoral student in CU-Boulder's integrative physiology department and lead author on the new study,...

"Parks can provide the safest alternative for long-distance walkers and their boisterous pets, whose long winter days can be brightened by the exercise offered by area parks."
"Walking at the Parks in Winter Ice and Snow" make parks a necessity writes Steve Block, for the Alberta Tribune.
"While the parks are more attractive during the warm weather months, winter makes them a necessity for providing a safe venue for walking. Shopping malls and gyms are great places to maintain fitness, but they don’t allow pets on their premises. Dog walkers need another option to keep their four-footed friends...
Snowy and it's Monday. Sounds like a song from the 70's. The Washington, DC metro area hates snow. Anything over two inches and the city comes to a screeching halt.
Zume's got his snow pants on and is shoveling the drive. I'm drinking coffee and looking out the window. Darn, he's seen me and is waving wildly. He's happy as can be... oh, to be young and foolish. I'm now laughing at him because he's green and covered in snow from head to toe.
It is very beautiful.
Thank goodness it's my walking day off.
Enjoy the day, wherever you are.

"People with ongoing or recurrent episodes of lower back pain should consider the benefits of walking as a low-impact form of exercise. Aerobic exercise has long been shown to reduce the incidence of low back pain. However, people with low back pain often find some forms of exercise too painful to continue, and therefore don't get the exercise they need to maintain good health. Exercise walking is one way to benefit from regular exercise while not aggravating the structures in the lower back."
"Exercise Walking for Better Back Health" by Ted Forcum, DC and Thomas Hyde, DC appears at Spine-Health...
"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential."
Winston Churchill I received a heads up about this article from Lance Armstrong's Twitter feed. It's very interesting and is best summed up by the concluding sentence in Dr. Mark Thorton's, Wall Street Journal article, "The Next Front in the War on Cancer."
"If the dam holding back rapid clinical trials can be broken, there will be new hope of having, in our lifetimes, new drugs speeding toward a cure for cancer, or at least for slowing down death from this disease."
Dr. Thorton served six years as a medical...
Today I walked 5.8 miles but my intention was to walk 13.2 miles. My goal was to complete 25 total miles for the weekend as a tribute to the Facebook 25 Random Things phenomenon, oh well. I ran into a little problem - blisters.
Yesterday, I purchased 8 pair of Under Armour socks from Dicks Sporting Goods. Yes, that's right, 8 pair. For some crazy reason, I decided to switch from my normal socks to a new brand - Under Armour.
This morning, I put on one pair of those Under Armour's Men's All Season Gear Crew Sock 4-Pack sold for $19.99 and went on my walk. After 2.0 miles, I had to stop to adjust...
