Well, it's a actually a guest post from friend and fellow blogger, Amy Sullivan at Feasibly Fit Mom, "8 Ways to Motivate: Get Your Workout Done!"
I give you the highlights and you can click over for the full story.
Some days we bounce out of bed, ready to attack the track, work the weights and kill the kettlebells. And then there are the days that we struggle to find time, energy or motivation to get the dog out for a walk or make it to our favorite yoga class.
Here are some tips passed along to me by my clients or I’ve found useful. Remember, it takes just one of these to get you movin’...
It's not a long trip for everyone but she fell off the weight loss wagon and now she's telling her story on Oprah this week.
Why did Kirstie Alley Fell Off the Wagon? We'll hear it, in her very own words and I have a prediction, not enough exercise and to much dieting. Here's what happened originally on The Oprah Show but with David Letterman's sly and ironic viewpoint.
It was an eye-popping moment on The Oprah Show—Kirstie Alley in a bikini. Two and a half years later, she's going public again with a big admission. (PG)
Tune in on 04/30 to watch this show at The Oprah...
I'm pretty proud, walked 2000 miles in 1 year and 5 months. WOW!
MikeZ_peace up and 2000 miles
Please consult your physician before starting any exercise or weight loss program.
Your physician is your very best resource.
OK, not everybody is going to be a life long walker but if you want to eventually run try this great method. Simply - start by walking fast to build a good foundation of stamina, then move to running. Take a look at Health Magazine's article and plan on how to "Walk-to-Run Plan."
If your excuse not to run is that you’ll run out of steam in 2 minutes, you’ll have to think again. “New runners are prone to go out too hard and too fast,” says Health’s Girls Gotta Move Running Club coach Jenny Hadfield, who directs Run Like a Girl clinics. “The key is to start slow and think long-term.”

As you age you lose muscle, no pain-no gain, weights make women bulky, only gym rats burn fat, no warm-up for walkers. These are the five exer-myths, what do you believe? It's easy, none are true but it's fun to hear the reasons from Laurie Wiker at the Wilmington Wellness Examiner in, "Five Fitness Myths you Can't Afford to Believe."
Myth 1
As you age, you lose muscle and gain fat, no matter what you do.
Research shows that you can increase lean body mass and decrease fat mass with regular aerobic exercise, strength training and a low-fat diet. While some physiological changes do occur with...

I love him, Kelly Murray, because he is, who he is and most people can only aspire to that kind of centered life. The one thing that stands out about Kelly, is his commitment to fitness and a healthy life. He's constantly doing some kind of exercise program, like biking, running, yoga and walking on the golf course. Kelly also holds the a world record, on September 25, 1990, he set a Guinness World Record by hitting a golf ball 684.8 yards on the 30-yard wide airstrip at Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia, besting the previous record by 50.7 yards.
The other day, before my Saturday walk,...
Faker, faker. Are fake sugars safe?
I put regular sugar or cane sugar in my tea and coffee. This started after years of using the fake stuff and I finally realized that saving a few extra calories, wasn't worth putting the chemicals in my body. This isn't a medical finding, it's a personal choice. Here's a look at the story, "Are Fake Sugars Safe?," from Women's Health Magazine.
Move over, Splenda. Sugar's new doppelganger is coming soon to cafés everywhere.
Made from Rebaudioside A, an extract of the leaves of the stevia plant, the newest zero-calorie sugar sub promises to be up to 300 times...
I saw this bumper-sticker this morning and I had to laugh out loud. I love it. What a funny take on the Breast Cancer awareness movement and the tag really sticks with you. The people next to me in traffic must have thought I was insane. Who cares.
As you know, we have a team walking in the Washington DC 3-day Breast Cancer walk. Angie and Christy both have begun the training process and are both doing well. If you stop by at the 3-day website, we're under the team name - ZumeWalk.
One day we'll hear the cry - SAVE THE TA-TAS!, save the ta-tas.

I'm sorry - I haven't forgotten you! Things are crazy here in Washington, DC and it has nothing to do with politic or the economy. I want to apologize for the lack of interesting posts and twisty titles, I've been in a very busy and Zume has suffered.
I 've missed the process and the creativity of writing about my personal passion - walking. I hope you haven't gone to another. Zume would be heart broken.
I'll get my groove back, as things settle down a bit. Don't forget my personal fitness challenge, walking 200 miles in 28 day, there's only 9 days left, then I'll have more posting time.
