The day didn't start off well for Bob on the NBC TV show 'Biggest Loser.'
Rene Lynch's article at the LA Times brings a back office view of Bob and the emotional roller coaster he's run in the last few shows:
"This week? In Part 1 of a two-part episode, Bob watched two of his teammates -- Sione and Filipe -- sent over to the blue team.
So? This happens each season, right? Alliances shift. Contestants come and go. So why was this different? Here's the back story:
Bob, Sione and Filipe formed a uniquely strong bond. In fact, it was a bond that Filipe said he felt even before arriving at the ranch....
I cannot stop laughing! Please stop, I might wet my pants. Please take look at the article by Rene Lynch at the LA Times, "Sweating it out as a Big Loser." Hilarious!
"I started out the same way that the contestants do. A warm-up, followed by cardio followed by circuit trainingwith Bob or Jillian.
Bob ordered me — and that’s the right verb — to begin running at 5 miles per hour — and at a 5% incline. That’s kind of fast, and kind of steep. It wasn’t long before I smelled something burning — my hamstrings.
When neither trainer was looking, I dropped the pace down to 4.7 mph....

Check out one winner's story in the video to learn how he did it.
So if you have a lot of weight to lose, and you wouldn't mind a chance...
The "Biggest Loser" is about short term pain for short term gain.
SHORT TERM is any program that focuses weight loss on a very short period of time, like an eighteen week TV program. My bet is 90-95% of the "Biggest Loser" participants will gain all the weight back plus additional pounds. My hope, is they don't, but statistics are not on their side.
My contention, in order to lose weight you must do it the same way you gained it. Slowly over time. Most of us don't gain weight quickly, it's gained over years. Here's what Meghan Vivo says in an article titled, "Why Quick-Fix Weight Loss...
See the short term results and the long term results. Where are the "Biggest Losers" now?

The contestants, the viewers or who? The biggest loser surely isn't NBC and please stop calling me Shirley.
Don't get me wrong, I love to watch the show and thinks it incredibly entertaining and inspirational.
But?
Is the NBC TV show "The Biggest Loser" good or bad?
I don't know?
I think that most contestants will at least know how to eat and exercise after the show ends. But can the routine be maintain during the living of a regular life?
Another big but.
