OK, the month of resolutions is finally over. Hurray! Hate it. Making resolutions in January never really works especially fitness and weight loss resolutions.
We should change the month in which we make resolutions to April.
How about, we switch New Years and April Fools Day. Warm weather equals more exercise and more likely fitness and weight loss success.
Anyway, let's get down to work. Make one small goal, set it (like walk 100 miles in three months) and go forward with the related small actions to complete goal. Then repeat the process of taking that one small action. (like walk 4-5 days...
Patience grasshopper. It takes time to lose weight. Years to put it on and years to properly take it off. Hate the way that sounds?
Here's what Newsweek says, but it's not the article that stuck out to me, it was the first comment:

"I'd be really careful about daily weighing. Tends to get people obsessed, especially as it is normal for weight to fluctuate within a small range (but as high as 5 pounds)."
The focus of the article, "What Works", is on keeping a personal food diary. I believe this would work but only as a learning tool. What do you eat or how much,...
I forgot about my two years in LA. I don't know how many miles I walked in LA it was a bunch but the place I chose to walk was wonderful and LA was an awesome experience.
I walked mostly in the Santa Monica Mountain National Recreation Area and it is one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

All of us have a connection with this park, it's the TV show - M*A*S*H and numerous other TV shows and movies filmed on location in the Santa Monica National Recreation Area.
M*A*S*H was film in the park and some of the military vehicles still remain in the park today.

Winter's break in Chicago:
After weeks of sub-freezing temps and near-record snowfall, this weekend's mild conditions make it hard to stay inside.
Get outside, go for a walk. Breathe some fresh.
Did you get a winter break in your town and what did you do?
MikeZ - "walking - exercise for the rest of life"
Does anyone else think these types of articles are sad. Everyone on earth deals with weight changes, fluctuation, it's a part of "real" life.
"Ms. Simpson has publicly stated that she is healthy, feels great and is very happy with her body. We would agree. Ms. Simpson looks fantastic and we see no reason for her to participate in a weight management program."
Give me a break! This poor woman looks fine. Maybe she has gained a little weight but this is normal at SugarFit they give us the skinny on Why Does My Weight Fluctuate?:
"If you think that this means the number on the scale should remain...
These are trying financial times and everyone has a story but now is not the time to slow or stop exercising. It's the time to do quite the opposite, go a little harder or longer to relieve that stress but remember to stay within your personal fitness limits. Now is not the time to run 5 miles when you haven't touched your running shoes except to "run" to the grocery store.
Start with a small walk but walk with purpose.
The Mayo Clinic has it exactly right: Rev up your exercise routine to reduce stress.
"Physical activity — whether it's a relaxing walk, bicycle racing or meditative tai chi — helps...
This is a mini-review, a true story and NOT a paid advertisement.
Over a year ago, when I started walking again, I had a slight knee injury and was looking for help. And like all "real" men was avoiding the doctor's office like the plague. I eventually ended up at the doctor's office but that's another story. In the end, my knee injury came from a combination of things: a lack flexibility, lack of vigorous exercise and weight gain. These simple answers to my injury came much later and with the help of my personal doctor. But I still had to solve my knee problem so independently and stubbornly...
