OK, you're not a geezer but walking will help you look and feel younger at any age.
The benefits of walking for healthy aging are numerous and in the About.com article, "Walking as an Anti-Aging Exercise" by Mark Stibich, Ph.D. gives us his outlook:
How Much Walking Should I Do For Anti-Aging? - That’s a really good question. In this study, the walking group met three times a week. They started out slowly, walking only 10 or minutes the first time. Over the four months, they built up to walking 40 minutes each time.
How Much Did Walking Help Aging? - All the study participants...
I didn't finish my 25 random posts but I will do 25 random miles this weekend. Today was an 11.8 mile day, so I'll have a little longer walk tomorrow to get my 25 miles.
Sorry for my crazy idea of doing 25 random posts about the "Facebook 25 Random Thing" phenomenon. I wasn't sure if it was funny or annoying, so I stopped.
Wish me luck tomorrow with my 13.2 miles. I hope the weather holds up here in DC.

PS - Just an update, I'm raising money for the Breast Cancer 3-day ZumeWalk DC Team; I'm raising a dollar per mile and so far I've logged 37.37...
Over at "Back in Skinny Jeans" Stephanie gives a real life success story on losing and keeping off 25 pounds.
"I started my 25lb weight loss journey back in June of 2005 and reached my goal in January of 2008, and have kept it all off ever since."
Here's just a few, link over for the rest:
1. I eliminated consuming any artificial sweeteners like aspartame and Splenda which I was mostly consuming through diet sodas like Diet Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper, and in my coffee and tea drinks at Starbucks. When I did that 10lbs just fell off. My theory, and again I am no medical pro, is related...
Because it's positive, creative, motivating, communicative and I enjoy it.
If nothing comes of my blogging, then so be it. It will still be worth every minute of extra work. Why do I mention this? I had someone say to me yesterday, in a telephone call - "there are not a lot of comments on your blog." It made me feel like they where saying, in a round about polite way, what's the point? Why do it?
That comment bothered me. And rarely am I so sensitive, but I have worked hard on this damn blog for the last 46 days and it pissed me off. Sorry for the language. The next morning, I left for my walk...
Man, I'm hungry and this sounds awesome. Check out the Three Bean Soup at ExHotGirl.
"This one is a vegetarian meal - no chicken or beef stock, and no meat! It's a nice, tasty mild soup. It doesn't have an overwhelming amount of flavor, but was very pleasant and nice on a cold day. :) We omit a few ingredients in ours because Dan hates onions and mustard. I'm sure with those ingredients in the soup, it would be a lot more flavorful."
Three-Bean Soup
3 cups water
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, not drained (low sodium)
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) black-eyed...

This Midwest mom walks everywhere. Can we learn from her planning and explore opportunities to walk within our daily routine? I know, I will. Her story is great because it shows that with a little prior thought anyone can fit walking into a busy family schedule.
"If your spouse is home to watch the children or if they're old enough to be home by themselves, wake up early for a morning walk with other moms on your street. We have a 'dawn patrol' that goes out for 20-25 minutes every weekday."
I walk most of my miles on the weekend and cut back mileage during the week, this way I achieve my mileage...

"At 280 pounds and a size 30, when Maria B, 29, would go shopping, she'd hold up a pair of size-6 pants and wonder how anyone could fit into them. Now, 135 pounds lighter, she wears them herself."
"I couldn't walk more than two houses down without getting out of breath," says Maria, a mother of one and a program director for a telecommunications company in Schaumburg, IL. "But it was the only exercise that wasn't intimidating. Anyone can walk, right?" After two months, she was walking three miles a day."
Wow, I love it! Redbook has it exactly right, "Walking Helped Me Lose 135 Pounds." Maria...
It's only natural and it happens to everyone, a lack of noticeable progress sometimes can brings you down. You're working your butt off every week and it's easy to have a "that" day when you're not happy. A glance in the mirror and the flood of disappointment hits you. Why am I working so hard? I'll tell you why.
Even when I'm right on track with my monthly workout schedule, I have those days too when I'm not happy with my "external" progress. That's when I try to focus on the big picture, where was I over a year ago, where am I now and where am I going? The realization hits me right between...
