I didn't finish my 25 random posts but I will do 25 random miles this weekend. Today was an 11.8 mile day, so I'll have a little longer walk tomorrow to get my 25 miles.
Sorry for my crazy idea of doing 25 random posts about the "Facebook 25 Random Thing" phenomenon. I wasn't sure if it was funny or annoying, so I stopped.
Wish me luck tomorrow with my 13.2 miles. I hope the weather holds up here in DC.

PS - Just an update, I'm raising money for the Breast Cancer 3-day ZumeWalk DC Team; I'm raising a dollar per mile and so far I've logged 37.37...
Over at "Back in Skinny Jeans" Stephanie gives a real life success story on losing and keeping off 25 pounds.
"I started my 25lb weight loss journey back in June of 2005 and reached my goal in January of 2008, and have kept it all off ever since."
Here's just a few, link over for the rest:
1. I eliminated consuming any artificial sweeteners like aspartame and Splenda which I was mostly consuming through diet sodas like Diet Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper, and in my coffee and tea drinks at Starbucks. When I did that 10lbs just fell off. My theory, and again I am no medical pro, is related...
Can people lose weight by walking?
Question from Patty: Do you think people can lose weight walking? What about a weighted vest? I have been doing some research on this.
Answer from Melinda Irwin, Ph.D., M.P.H.: Definitely, people can lose weight walking. In a study I published a couple of years ago in JAMA, while we showed modest weight loss with exercise—about 3 pounds over a year—we showed up to 10 percent loss in abdominal body fat. So sometimes your walking program may not lead to a change on the scale, but a change in your belt loop or waist size.
My physical change, at first,...
"As a wife, mother, and high-powered exec, Heidi Roizen let her health fall to the bottom of her mile-long to-do list. Using music as inspiration, she got into a new groove -- and lost 35 pounds."
Take a peek at Heidi's story in Nicole Yorio's article "Turn Up the Tunes and Lose 35 Pounds" at Redbook.
"I weighed more than my 6-foot husband!"A few months after I turned 49, I stepped on the scale and saw that I had reached an all-time high of 190 pounds. That meant that I was heavier than my 6-foot-tall, 188-pound husband. And I was also feeling the physical effects: I couldn't cross my legs,...
This, Cardio Striptease, caught my eye and made me laugh while reading an article titled, "Walking for Weight Loss" at DietBlog.
"Fitness trends come and go. Spinning, Cardio Striptease, Pilates, Vibration Machines - there are loads of different exercise routines other there. Any kind of exercise is good - anything that you can enjoy that gets your body moving is a good thing. If all the options and trends are too much - then it's time to fall back on the most accessible exercise - walking."
"Many people underestimate the effectiveness of walking for weight loss and heart health. All exercise...

"At 280 pounds and a size 30, when Maria B, 29, would go shopping, she'd hold up a pair of size-6 pants and wonder how anyone could fit into them. Now, 135 pounds lighter, she wears them herself."
"I couldn't walk more than two houses down without getting out of breath," says Maria, a mother of one and a program director for a telecommunications company in Schaumburg, IL. "But it was the only exercise that wasn't intimidating. Anyone can walk, right?" After two months, she was walking three miles a day."
Wow, I love it! Redbook has it exactly right, "Walking Helped Me Lose 135 Pounds." Maria...
Sometimes you need a "Proud Mary" moment. It's tough to make changes unless you realize you need to. Winfrey said she really became aware of her size last May, when Tina Turner and Cher appeared on her show and she was invited onstage to sing with them to "Proud Mary." Of course, any of us might worry how we'd look next to those ladies, whose legs reach approximately as high as my chin, but for Winfrey, her anxiety was a wake-up call that she'd put on more pounds than she was comfortable with. Having a reason to change is only the first step in harnessing your willpower, but it's an essential...
Goodbye cellulite, hello beautiful legs.
Cellulite is hated universally and there is only one true cure. Of course, they'll sell all kinds of creams, lotions and potions that claim to get rid of cellulite. In the article "Wipe Out Cellulite" at Prevention.com, the research shows that the one key to reduce or eliminating cellulite is exercise and that crash dieting can actually make the appearance of cellulite worse:
"Crash dieting can actually make cellulite worse by reducing skin's elasticity, making more of those little puckers noticeable. Gradual weight loss (to better preserve skin's...
